Staying Balanced While Working Toward Your Goals

Date: Wednesday, October 21 at 4 pm (note: this will be a 75-minute session)

Description: This session will focus on steps to help you find harmony, balance, and career fulfillment. In addition to discussing specific strategies, breakout rooms will be used for participants to learn from each other. Topics will include: 

  • Career-life integration
  • How to look after yourself
  • The four Ds of inbox management
  • Finding joy in your teaching
  • How to carve “blocks” of time for research while meeting other demands and deadlines

Facilitator: Lorraine Morales Cox is an Associate Professor of Visual Arts and Chair of the Visual Arts Department. She teaches undergraduate courses on modern and contemporary visual art and culture of Europe and the Americas and her research focuses on critical artistic practices that address social and political issues, including the subjects of race, gender, consumer culture, and the environment. She has served as Director of Faculty Development and she co-founded the Union Coalition on Inclusiveness and Diversity (UCID). Professor Cox actively participates in programs that promote, mentor, support and retain a diverse community of students and faculty.
